today was batman day.
why?
because janice said so.

headed over to her house at 3pm.
jammed around with the guitar and ukelele while we waited for pickle to arrive.
then it was batman begins and the dark knight and knitting and pizza and juice mixed with coke.
and then it was talking until past midnight about psych and 'sex' and chinese intonations.
so happy that for once i was one of the quickest to get home.
fun times with bel, hui, janice, jenny, joe & pickle (in alphabetical order)~

in "celebration" of joecheung leaving for hongkong indefinitely
jin family people finally came over, after months of talking about it
we spent the afternoon grocery shopping before heading back to the house to make mini pizzas (gourmet, of course) and apple pie
then we sang karaoke and cut each other's hair over some beer, until 4am.
on reflection, maybe it wasn't the smartest move to cut hair while tipsy, there was a pretty harrowing moment when eric had the shears and basically shaved off most of the hair on the centre back of twin's hair. yeah, that was...hmmm....

will miss jo :(

so excite.

with wynnie's europe blog posts and my parents talking about wanting to go to europe (possibly without me)
here's a random nostalgia post from 2006 (when i was still chubby, and cherry still had braces)
europe, i miss you sooooooooooo much

(also, lol forever at all the bad photos i took. here are some of the better ones)
(sidesidenote: imagining what it would be like with albus *orgasm)

today was possibly the most satisfying shopping experience i've ever had (possibly...)
because i had a list of about 6 things i wanted to buy, and managed to cross out5
and they were quite specific things as well
*pat on the back

i think mum has been missing me a little bit so she got really excited about our shopping date today
and didn't complain about all the walking we did. <3

got some cropped trousers from zara
i have this feeling that they're meant to be 3/4s or at least 7/8s but for my ass:height ratio, they seriously JUST fit.
they were the only skinny leg pants i could find in store, it was crazy. everyone was acting like it was boxing day.

(i jumped in this picture, but you can't tell)

two dresses from paper scissors
the navy one is pretty much almost exactly what i had in mind in my wardrobe essentials post so i'm really happy about it: go me!

also got a beige sweater from cotton on (with my 30% off voucher)
and a nude slip from myer (with my $20 gift card)

once i buy some shoes,
i'll be sated for another 3 months.

new family tradition is to have lunch every saturday, since it's the only time we're all free
this week we went to a small korean/japanese place near eastwood station
between mum, dad and me - we ordered sushi + udon set, soft shell crab sushi and huidupbup (which is basically cubed sashimi on rice and cabbage).
it was soooooo good.

then dad went off to work and mum and i trained it into the city
went shopping for the first time in a really long time
mum and i also sat down at azuma's for a little bit
she got a cappucinno, and i got the cold cake combo (ordered the earl grey chiffon cake and iced matcha)
the earl grey chiffon cake was pretty interesting.

made a pseudo resolution this year to try my best to give handmade presents.
so i fail as a friend, because i've known janice since...2007? and i don't i've ever given her a pressie. this year, i promised janice that i would paint her a nude, but of course! i lie!
ended up spending the evening two nights before sketching and painting this image that i completely completely jacked from blanca gomez
just sketched it in my a4 visual art diary and then painted using acrylics that i've had for years now...i think i ended up using blue, white, red and a tiny tiny bit of yellow?
i think i actually prefer it as a sketch, but oh well! sorry janice :(
and then i put it all into a frame with a white border because i thought it would look more pro than a ripped page from a notepad...

and then i had leftover paint and i knew i wanted to make the card as well so i ended up with this

happy birthday again!

donna.
just two random thoughts that have hit me

oo1; if i were to have a me song, it would probably be: i'll make a man out of you - mulan

oo2; birthday present to myself will likely be an ipad | 32gb wifi only

random, eh?

We stayed at The Star the last two nights for the lols.
Nah~ we stayed there cos we didn't want to die from Mortein because my parents decided to pest control the house themselves.

So Sunday night was spent trying to finish up my client reports before we left but fail because it didn't happen and I ended up taking robmac with me
So that was what I did at the Star on Sunday night.

Mum and Isaac went out to get Din Tai Fung for dinner and it was okay but pretty pricey. Like four really small xiao long bao ended up being about $8?

Had an awful moment where the bellboy came in with the rollaway bed and then me and Isaac kind of looked at each to gauge whether we had change but I only had $10, so the bellboy kind of lingered for a little bit before leaving empty handed. :( I felt so bad and Isaac gave me so much crap for it -.-
But then yesterday, I asked Bel and she said it was fine so I'm just going to go with that.

What else?
Oh our room was ok but the hotel ended up being overbooked so we ended up in a wheelchair accessible room with no bathtub and view of the back of buildings, but can't complain since it was a complimentary stay after all.

I thought it would be awesome cos I would save heaps of time going into uni from Pyrmont but that wasn't the case at all. Ended up saving half hour since I had to walk from the Star to park st.

Dinner on Monday night was dad and I at the Lotus. Man, man, man...
I think it was supposed to be a $45/head banquet if it was full priced and man, not worth it at all. Like at all.
They had this ~special fried rice which wasn't special at all. And most of it was just veggies. It's like, seriously? Seriously?!

But morning made up for it because yesterday I had an awesome awesome breakfast. We got complimentary brekkie at Bistro 80 which was like this little retro restaurant bar at the casino, with some standard buffet offerings and you could order eggs and a side.
They also ha a really upscale nespresso machine that took me 10 minutes to figure out, lol.

So I ended up having nice coffee, chocolate croissant, nice fresh French bread and rockmelon.
And then my poached eggs with a side of smoked salmon arrived and it was sooooo good. ~happy sigh.
Dad's scrambled eggs with avocado was awesome as well.

Hungry just thinking about it.

Other then that, not that awesome since the tower we stayed at had no pool or anything exciting. Glad to be back home ^^

2-day Serena van der Woodsen
