Exciting things that happened over the past few days include meeting up with Janice, JessLee and Vicki for dinner at Wagaya. Had such an unexpected great time that pushing back my assignment was completely worth it.

Then today was a Donna's all-nighter. Meaning I napped throughout the night LOL. Managed to watch the sunrise over the course of my 90 minute naps.

Felt so terrible as I was reading my final edit. Thank you (again & again) to Janice and Michelle for making me the most awesome triple-tier sandwich.
My jaw still hurts from it.

Then it was down to the White House for drinks with my org peeps. So stupid, I forgot my ID (cos these things just don't cross my mind) and so security had to kick me out after only having one drink :(
Super lolsy that the whole group got super indignant and were like She can't be under 18 and doing postgrad, We wouldn't hang around 17 year olds, What? She looks 30! Etc etc etc.
Gotta love it!

After uni, Janice, Michelle and I headed down to Harbourside to finally get Janice her pulled pork sandwich. Only to be met with a 1 hour waiting time.
We'd all conveniently forgotten that today was Friday, so we went scourging around for food and lo and behold! Somehow ended up at The Star. you read that right! The old casino.

After walking around for what seemed like hours we finally ended up at the Asian place in the middle of the gambling floor. Between the three of us we ordered a Hainan chicken rice, a Fat Pho noodle and chow kwai deo (whatever~). As well as ginger lemon tea and cumquat green tea.
All up $56, which is a but on the expensive side for Asian food but still acceptable. The best dish was definitely the raw beef Pho. Sad that the Hainan rice wasn't that fragrant.

Now on the one home, completely ready for slumber...

Man~ i'm getting there with the blog entries (second last of the batch, but maybe last to be posted!!!!!)
Miss Jenny M Lam: super happy birthday and super super apologies for not getting you your elmo
hopefully we'll be able to find you something even cooler for the rest of your present!

Anyway, us girls *LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL* went to Little Snail for lunch
Three course meal for under $40, which isn't too bad
It was fine-dining without the discomfort, which was pretty awesome
Too bad the restaurant's lighting leaves a lot to be desired (photography-wise)

HOT CHICK ALERT. (WITH A PICNIC BASKET TO BOOT!)

I ordered the escargots, the veal and for dessert, a hazelnut and praline ice cream on shortbread

the sauce was great, really buttery if not a bit too salty
otherwise, the dish wasn't anything to special
i quite like the texture of snails though

lolsy moment of the day: when janice poured sangria for like three of us, before the waiter tells her she's doing it wrong xD

serious duck liver pate. serious stuff.
it was so good, considering i don't even like liver. but i couldn't stop eating it.
i really do think it was the sweet suace (can't remember what it was) that made it awesome.

michelle and hui trying to mime the rest of jenny's present. LOOOOOOOOOOL.

the icecream was really good. the shortbread not so much :(
the almond was a bit too strong...

someone's drunk...

olden day girl from shanghai, eloping with some friends (lol)

so little snail...it was okay.
i think i had my expectations a bit too high, because it's like the go-too place for school excursion french food.
my main was veal...something...and the sauce tasted way better than it looked. it LOOKED like buttery goo. lol. but it tasted really good.
THUS: not in a hurry to go back for the food, but it was a nice girly lunch spot :D

WHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE~
You know, despite the fact we don't meet up that often, I really love it when we do?
Mandy finally pulled our act together and we finally got to meet up even though it was Sunday night and so many people had to leave early for work the next day <3

Went to uni in the morning with Jenny
took ages longer because of some marathon or another...
Did a bit of work, ate an epic lunch (read: 2.5 cupcakes)
and then left around 6 to get to HardRock Cafe (i was third latest!)
the ambience was awesome, really spacious and the waiters were so completely over-the-top sassy
the food was great as well. can't wait to get back there with Janice and the crew for the pulled pork sandwich that we missed out on XD
we snuck out to the darling harbour piers for cupcakes

lolsy moment of the night was when wynnie was rude to the waiter
is this a cake? NO!
(or something like that)
ended the night at GJ's with cherry and vivian gossiping like old good times <3

vivian photobombing us!

<3

awesome heart-stopping cupcakes courtesy of wynnie@fuchsia-fragments

can't wait for the next meetup!
hopefully we can spend more hours together <3

donna.

Special first post from my phone to thank Miss Janice Liew for helping me run my experiments so I could attempt to do my review paper.

Also thanks to Michelle and Janice (again) for listening to my whining and making me friendship bracelets.

Lolsy moment of the day when we were packing up on level 14 and I removed Janice's headphones from Robmac and Justin Bieber's One Time comes on loud and clear over the speakers. And like porn noises, took me a good two long seconds to shut it down.

Love it.

YAY
over a week ago was michelle's...23rd (?) birthday
celebrated by trashing her desk and then the whole gang went to blackbird cafe for dinner
a whole lotta drinking that went on because it was $10 cocktails
i think out all of the cocktails we ordered, only our (i.e. me and jenny) one was good
well i know for sure janice and mel's one wasn't xD
the food was pretty decent though (if i remember correctly)

lolsy moment of the night was when janice tried to pass her chips to someone and that's when we found out the chip container was bottomless xD

i was not drunk

work that pout mel!

one thing that sucks about backblogging is how little i remember of the events that occur.
anyone care to help me out?

 donna.

Random Saturday

baked, baked, baked until the others arrived.
then it was going through old studios for the lols.

recipes in the previous post.
the cupcakes came out a bit sweet, even though i cut the sugar by 25%
twin had a bit of fun spelling out swear words with reeses pieces -.-
the scones were pretty good though! for my first time and without a scone cutter xD

then we went grocery shopping until 3pm
bought back some beer and then trundled over to the bigger backyard for a fake picnic
those softies got too hot so we left after a little while...

lol at jo xDDDD

then we went back to the smaller backyard and thought we'd dunk our little feet in the pool cos it was such a hot day
turns out the pool water was completely frigid
yay for frostbite!

see the rainbow on the edges of the cloud? so weird!

cherry was so drunk. soooooooooo drunk.

twin cooked for us and it was awesome!
also took him like three hours, so we managed to sing quite a bit of karaoke before he was done =D

we ate dinner while watching LOTR:TTT (extended edition)
by the time i put the second disc in we were all completely knackered
so i kept drifting in and out of sleep and each time i woke up someone else was sleeping
hhahahah i keep drifting off to sleep each time i watch the extended cuts...so tired...

 awesome. awesome. awesome. day. <3
super super sad miss jenny lam couldn't make it :(
