everyone who knows me, knows i love my extended family
so yesterday and today were just completely awesome
last night, i left uni around 6:30pm and got pickle to drop me off at hyde park instead of central station
and then as i was feeling sorry for myself for having to spend friday night alone (since everyone was going to be out) i walked by mizuya and bumped into a familiar face. my cousin kenny! who i hadn't seen for almost a year!
so he pulled me in and i ended up having a pretty nice dinner with his new wife and friends.
then i bussed it home, and bumped into my littlebro at the busstop! serendipity levels at an all time high!
then this morning, i got woken up at a reasonably early hour and went yumcha with the extended family.
my cousins' little kids are so cute.
and then just bantering and laughing with the cousins that are the same generation as me - anita, jess, kenny - was so great. left me blissed out. hahahah.
oh! and the food was pretty good!
oh! and another random coincidence! bumped into amy and her new beau yum-chaing with her family at the table next to ours. loooooooooooooooooool.
anita just came back from europe. (so. damn. jealous. can. not. handle.)
and because she loves me so much...

and because she loves me so much...
story behind this is the first time i went to venice, i brought home some glass plates because they're just one of those things you buy as souvenirs
so i bought one for anita and one for myself. and carried them both around the world with me for a month.
when i got home, my parents were going through the stuff i bought and my dad just kind of roughly opened up my carefully packaged glass plate and dropped it on the floor (shattering it)
i ended up bawling for like 10 minutes.
so this is one reason why i love my cousin a lot, alot. because she got me this, without me asking her to <3 love you so much!
and then looooooool, anita doesn't know this, but i have actually been kind of eyeing the longchamp les pliages tote for a little while although i had like next to no intention of buying it.
just kind of eyeing it in a i-really-don't-mind-if-it-drops-in-my-lap way.
so i'm really fortunate that my cousin loves me and knows me enough to get me one. and get me one in navy which is the colour i would have bought myself.
so two for you anita! you win at life, and i suck because i need to up my gift game. <3
because you give me some of my most loved gifts (and memories)

BACKWARDS BLOGGING TAKES HOURS OUT OF MY LIFE

I've scheduled four more blog posts this week, covering events that happened...2 weeks ago (lol)
Don't say September wasn't exciting...
Anyway, this is a lazy entry about the past week

I've scheduled four more blog posts this week, covering events that happened...2 weeks ago (lol)
Don't say September wasn't exciting...
Anyway, this is a lazy entry about the past week
- Monday: went out with Janice and Michelle after uni. Went to the japanese place next to Azumas on George St. Then we went to Azumas for dessert (chiffon cake and green tea latte) and stayed there until the doors closed like complete rebels.
- Tuesday: I dressed like Janice Liew. Or so Twitter tells me.
- Wednesday: Went to Little Snail in the morning and got drunk before teatime (will have separate entry later this week). Then went to uni to play Creationary before leaving at 6 to go to Mizuya with jin family and church people. Food was okay, but singing was not enough.
- Thursday: MY LITTLE BRO GRADUATED AND THEN I DROVE HIM TO HIS FRIENDS HOUSE FOR PRE-FORMAL FUN AND I FELT LIKE AN AMERICAN MOM.
Awwwww... look at my little little bro tying a tie for that tall black kid
now consider how tall my brother is compared to the tall black kid (and all surrounding kids) and then compare how tall i am relative to my brother. and i was pretty much hanging around 17 year old giants for the better part of an hour.
it was fun.
- Friday: Finished stats assignment early, at...4? That's half an hour early! Then we played Creationary with MT before Michelle, Janice and I went to Macchiato's for food and a girly chat. Went there for peking duck pizza WHICH WAS NOT THERE. Ended up with some weird seafood pizza that had a ton of rocket on it. Also had lamb pasta which was pretty good and the richest fondant on the face of the earth which was not what we ordered. Love hanging with those two, always.
- Saturday: bum. bum. bummed (i.e. postponed brunch with anita) until 5 when i drove down to burwood to pick up twin. Then Cherry came and picked us up at burwood. We ended up late for Ang's surprise party at Churrascaria. Meaning, when we got there, there were 20 odd people we didn't know, sitting around Ang. So we walked past and were all "OH! DIDN'T EXPECT YOU HERE!" Lol EPIC!FAIL. Then events occurred that once again reinforced the fact that i will be 4EVAH ALONE. Thanks life~
- Sunday: It rained. And then I went shopping with mum for hours and hours. And then I came home and jumped in puddles before i blogged for hours and hours.
$10 rainbow boardies from KMART. (*fingers crossed for Saturday)
$8 tiered cami from KMART.
30% off storewide sale at COTTONON. Got a blue plaid shirt in flimsy summery fabric and a pair of beige shorts for under $35 (?)
look at me ticking things off my wardrobe essentials list! got this cropped navy boyfriend blazer from DOTTI. it cost me $40 but i knew if i didn't get it i'd cry in my sleep (no.)
donna.
YAY finally saw anita for the first time since my birthday <3
also, got to use my new umbrella for the first time :P
(even though it was raining sideways so the umbrella didn't help that much xD)
we went to grill'd for dinner
it was their first birthday and we got a buy-one-get-one-free deal for saying happy birthday to the cashier (which i did in a super exuberant fashion)
the decor was all fancy with balloons and they had a guy singing acoustic covers, which was awesome.

it's moments like when anita sneaks up to a table and steals a huge-ass balloon - for us to take photos with - that really hammer in the fact that we're related <3
i ordered the baa-baa burger, anita ordered the 'simon says' chicken burger
and we shared the chips
the chips were so. good. SOOOOOOOO. GOOOOOOOOD.
the baa-baa burger was much better than the chicken burger, but not as good as the time me and twin deliberately drove all the way to newcastle for it...
but still really good.
(and also, cheap on this occasion)
as you can see, we also got free cupcakes. so cute~
(even though the frosting was weird, it tasted like...strawberry oak milk)
after dinner, we trundled over to events cinemas to watch POTC4
pirates of the caribbean 4: on stranger tides
mini mini lazy review
- there was a super lolsy moment right at the beginning where there's like a dead guy laying there, and me and anita both knew that he'd pop up. and yet, we both managed to get scared. lol. i will never learn.
- the movie itself was slow to begin but really picked up towards the middle
- the mermaids were awesome
- the plot was pretty much all over the place
- i actually really enjoyed the 3d effects in this one, it was subtle and used very very well.
- i also quite liked most of the new characters. and didn't feel that there was a orlando&kerira sized hole missing or anything...
- aside from that, not much to say.
- it was better than the last one, but no where near as good as the first.
- i guess there's only so many ways you can reinvent a pirate's search for treasure.
- even the music, which i usually adore, felt really repetitive.
- also, most lolsy ending ever. me and anita looked at each other in disbelief. so so random.
- that being said, it was still fun.
by the time i went to catch my bus, the qvb was completely empty
:O
donna.
so this is yet another picture-less post, since my phone is refusing to co-operate :(
hopefully i can change that tomorrow.
anyway, so yesterday i had work.
and afterwards, i went to pick up anita for dinner
macquarie park is usually a <10min drive
it took me the better half of an hour to get to her because traffic was so awful
never picking her up again
we drove to belfield for italian
ordered lamb and pasta and stuffed ourselves
food was pretty alright, just really creamy and we were really stuffed
talked about life and travels and all that good stuff
stay safe my favourite cousin <3
then we went to her house to find her backpacker's backpack
and we couldn't find it
instead we spent a bit of time compiling her shopping list
see below:
sigh.
that woman.
that leads me to another woman.
to all the people in lab201 that think joyce is super super smart:
joyce. you are too cute.
also, cherry and janice both wrote me epic emails today
and i feel very fortunate :)
