everyone who knows me, knows i love my extended family
so yesterday and today were just completely awesome

last night, i left uni around 6:30pm and got pickle to drop me off at hyde park instead of central station
and then as i was feeling sorry for myself for having to spend friday night alone (since everyone was going to be out) i walked by mizuya and bumped into a familiar face. my cousin kenny! who i hadn't seen for almost a year!
so he pulled me in and i ended up having a pretty nice dinner with his new wife and friends. 
then i bussed it home, and bumped into my littlebro at the busstop! serendipity levels at an all time high!

then this morning, i got woken up at a reasonably early hour and went yumcha with the extended family.
my cousins' little kids are so cute.
and then just bantering and laughing with the cousins that are the same generation as me - anita, jess, kenny - was so great. left me blissed out. hahahah.
oh! and the food was pretty good!
oh! and another random coincidence! bumped into amy and her new beau yum-chaing with her family at the table next to ours. loooooooooooooooooool.

anita just came back from europe. (so. damn. jealous. can. not. handle.)
and because she loves me so much...

story behind this is the first time i went to venice, i brought home some glass plates because they're just one of those things you buy as souvenirs

so i bought one for anita and one for myself. and carried them both around the world with me for a month. 

when i got home, my parents were going through the stuff i bought and my dad just kind of roughly opened up my carefully packaged glass plate and dropped it on the floor (shattering it)

i ended up bawling for like 10 minutes. 

so this is one reason why i love my cousin a lot, alot. because she got me this, without me asking her to <3 love you so much!

and then looooooool, anita doesn't know this, but i have actually been kind of eyeing the longchamp les pliages tote for a little while although i had like next to no intention of buying it. 

just kind of eyeing it in a i-really-don't-mind-if-it-drops-in-my-lap way. 

so i'm really fortunate that my cousin loves me and knows me enough to get me one. and get me one in navy which is the colour i would have bought myself. 

so two for you anita! you win at life, and i suck because i need to up my gift game. <3

before i go into the highlight of my day...

been super lazy with the blog lately since uni has been HECTIC!
feels super weird not have something due this week and it's kind of taking some getting used to but i'm definitely not going to take it for granted...

aside from assignments, i've been doing A LOT of eating out
so much so that i can't even keep track of where i've eaten since the last time i blogged
most recently, we went to hotel clarendon in surry hills for dinner (because the restaurant we wanted to go to had a 1 hour waiting period) but the food wasn't really anything too special (aside from the fact that chewing some of the meat made my jaw hurt)

i also feel like i'm built up my alcohol tolerance enough that i can now stop drinking so much
lol.

it was awesome getting to know a few more of the org classmates better though.

another random thing i did was watch 2012 again
i needed a dumb movie to watch while i made friendship bracelets and ohmygosh, i forgot how dumb that movie was
it was so fantasically dumb! and so fun to watch!

anyway, i'm going to try and update my blog a bit more now that i have a bit of a breather
hopefully with some sugar hit reviews soon!

  my two pairs of jesus sandals, which i bought on sale from etsy, arrived from greece

i've been wearing them in and they're quite comfy

finally, highlight of my day...
dad's been getting on my case to install a webcam on the living room computer and i finally freed up some time to do it 
so to test out the camera and the mic, we video gchated each other between the living room and the study
problem was the mic wasn't working but we could hear dad saying, hello hello can you hear me hello hello i can hear you can you hear me hello how are you what's your name how you doing oh good~~ hello can you hear me, etc etc et
mum thought it was THE. MOST. HILARIOUS. THING. EVER.

despite upcoming stress, i feel very fortunate these last couple of days

• hung out with my favourite jin people
• had a picnic lunch at uni with miss jenny lam
• met up with high school friends and ate heart-stopping cupcakes on the wharf
• chatted until the last bus was about to leave with cherry and vivian
• chatted and ate a lot with michelle and janice
• witnessed hui's adorable fail-ness over and over
• felt lots of love for my cute family <3

definitely looking forward to what this spring will bring :D :D :D

a whole week without an entry, a whole week!
so nothing much happened earlier in the week...i think.
since i don't remember anything. (lol)

on thursday, march 17th 6:30pm
i graduated.
shared the day with many many more friends than i could have hoped.
makes me feel so blessed and fortunate.
was also showered with more gifts than i could have dreamed of
such a spoilt little child.

then afterwards, we met up with cherry's family at wagaya

so many jokes and jabs at us (even though we were paying =.=)

i think cherry almost died of a heart attack and i really need to pull my mum aside and tell her what a secret means...

wayne got double-sushi-rouletted. 

so so so funny! 

then the next day it was cherry's turn to graduate
i had class from 1 - 4pm so i missed twin, but had fun being photographer even though i'm not particularly happy with the photos :(

after we separated, i was walking downt the main walkway and bumped into cherry again, lol

then yesterday, drove out to city to yum cha with elayne and charity <3

we waited a whole hour for this dish *shakes my head

 

went to meetfresh with charity after elayne left, and bumped into eric and johnson and the whole bunch of church people

then was going to take charity with me to the 201 gathering but she got a headache so dropped her off at eastwood station instead :(

got to janice's house at around 6:30pm and it was raining dog poo. 

  

got fed delicious pizza, even though the base was quite...hard. 

hahah the toppings were deliciouso though.

Miscellanous update
week...three (?) without the parents and feeling a lot of love from relatives and family friends
also, for some reason, everyone thinks i can't cook...like at all.
i guess that's better than if they think i can cook and then i face ugly myself. 
basically just been working at work and procrastinating my phD

had CNY celebrations at work and got red pockets from elayne and charity
whoot whoot

 

went over to Big Uncle's place again last night for dinner, this time to grab some red pockets
got a lot more than last year, which isn't saying much considering how we got...none

 

my little great niece is the cutest thing ever. and so so smart. 

she caught onto hotel dash super super quick.

 

oh how childhood has changed. all the kids were playing with iPhones xD

sydney weather has been completely psycho lately. got woken up at dawn the other day because it was so hot. so obviously, took a photo. saturday was 40s and today is like...20s. super wth!

took out mr. peter ho's (i.e. cherry's dads) inheritance the other weekend and fell in love with the wide manual prime lens. really need to take it for a run. but need time.

got 2 out of 4 tamora pierce books that i ordered from the book depository.
felt like revisiting some classic YA books with a fierce heroine.

also took a lot of pictures of myself while i was cooking lamb cutlets and japanese curry because i really liked what i was wearing today. i don't know why. lol.

yesterday, went to burwood with jess and anita
ate japanese food and watched black swan 
(screamed so many times xDDDD)
ordered salmon don...and didn't get what i thought i would xDDDD
the korean side dishes were ultimate awesome though!
ice coffee was bleh-ish~

today went to uni for meeting with jo and richard
drove and parked at uni and it was so hot -.-
not doing that again for awhile...seeing as i realise now that i can't drive and sleep at the same time :P
then i went to coogee beach on my own because i couldn't be bothered to wait two hours for jesslau

then met up with jesslau at uni and drove to bondi junction
had maxbrenner and caught up with stuff
good times~

then got home at around 5:30pm
bummed for half an hour and then drove to seven hills for new years eve dinner
my favourite little niece :P
had first taste of soup in a while - was awesome!
