so much excitement last week.
lazy lazy entry.

friday was mel's farewell, where we headed to the royal for lunch
admirable awkward levels seeing as brett was the only supervisor present
good moment was when janice pulled faces and me and dom had NO. idea what she was trying to say.
lunch was pretty cool, managed to keep the conversation following despite there being - dan, tony, dom, ann, janice, brett, mel, me, michelle and joe?
another good moment was bumping into my supervisor as we were walking back towards uni in a big group.

the rest of the afternoon was spent playing games, after adam joined us.
started off playing murder and lol at us choosing michelle and dan right off. HILARITY!
and it was even more hilarious when me and janice were celebrating with some major screams and jumps and then i look towards the door and i'm like hi brett and janice is all...lol you lie. but brett was actually standing there. good stuff!
and then the remainder of the arvo was spent playing good ol' sporcle.

so proud of myself because i worked (a little bit) on saturday before heading down to charity's place for an epic feast
gina, charity's 7 week old baby, was an absolute cutie. fdas;fjas;lkfas
i think we all caught a bit of baby fever.
it was so great catching up with the old workmates and their SOs - bob, vinnci, vrinda, anubhav, charity and daniel - and still have that same old dynamic we always had. lame jokes and cracks and all.
vrinda definitely brought the most blonde moments that night.
so weird that everyone was talking about marriage and babies and i'm still just...me.

then sunday was a bit of an anomaly.

i went out with a bunch of white people - bel, adam, rachel and meg. i was a token asian!

never thought i'd live to see the day.

we went to the harry potter exhibition and frolicked around the museum for a bit.

the exhibition was pretty cool, i wish they'd let us take pictures though. i think highlights was watching the real life version of hermione shoot her hand up for the sorting hat, pulling up mandrakes, deliberating over whether to push little kids out of the way to get to the qudditch, seeing the fake feast food.

was pleasantly surprised by the production value of the whole exhibit.

after that we strolled around the city, chatting and enjoying the sun. i think at one point, meg almost ate someone because she was so hungry.

ended up at grill'd and lindt for lunch and arvo tea.

had so much fun that my planned exit of 4pm was long gone by the time our day ended.

i think i got home around 9?

all in all, a great week.

talked to heaaaaaaps of people i don't usually talk to.

went out and had fun.

destressed a little from placement and phD.

went to the argyle for an ex-workmate's engagement party last night
(that place is SO. PRETTY.)
met up with little cousin beforehand for korean and we were both running late so i got to cafe cya before her and ordered. sat there by myself eating like i'd been stood up for a good 20 minutes xD
then we taxied it to the rocks because jess and her friend were wearing intense heels. hahahha

got to argyle and we were like where's the engagement party?
and then we looked on our right and there were all these asians and it was like, oh here it is!
started off pretty weird, maybe because i haven't been around...normal people for awhile
and i forget how nerdy/geeky i can be, so i had to spend a good hour or so assimilating back into normal life
the drinks were super pretty, kind of pricey ($18), and pretty sweet.
so so so awesome to catchup with the people from work <3 miss them so much.
went up to the second floor to cough-dance-cough a bit, went to a unisex bathroom...and couldn't figure out how to work the tap (it had a sensor in the ceiling -.-)
ended up being a pretty awesome night
i'd really like to go back there some day.

got offered a lift home, but then kina had to pick up her boyfriend from the cross and drop him off at liverpool so i didn't end up getting home until like..2am
it was the most hilarious thing cos he looks like a european model, talks like he's from bankstown and is a rta auditor
lovely memories of the four of us in kina's car, singing adele at 1:30am in the morning.

got a new purse from portmans for nights out (because i have so many of those...lol)

finally made use of the oroton coin purse twin gave me

and yay! i finished my friendship bracelet

today we went to parklea markets, my mum and i

and we caught up with so many aunties who still work there

and there was so much talk about where everyone's children are these days, so many lawyers and accountants with their first investment properties, etc etc etc

and it made me so uncomfortable inside

because i don't want to buy a house right now, i don't want to be super rich, i don't want those things to be important

eck.

greed makes people so ugly.

met up with miss charity yesterday, who successfully completed her first trimester
so excited for her!
she was half an hour late meeting me at circular quay, but i was able to pass the time visiting the knitting yarn shop on york street and drinking my hipster ice coffee at starbucks.

we had the BBQ pork ribs and monte crisco crepes at pancakes on the rocks
the food was so good, but i have a feeling it was partially due to the extended wait we had.
it was a busy saturday.
(sidenote the girls next to us got free drinks and a free pancake because they waited even longer :P)
then after lunch, we strolled the rocks markets before slowly walking to pitt st mall. and by slowly, i mean i was walking at 25% speed because pregnant ladies are supposed to walk slowly.
we ordered some fresh juice at the food court and i got really anal because i knew she wasn't supposed to drink watermelon juice, but like...what other stuff can't she drink? *pulls hair out*

anyway, around 4 i made her go home and get some rest and i went wandering around the city streets on my own in search of a few things on my wishlist. i pretty much failed.
shall start online shopping in the near future!

i was, however, finally able to purchase a 1TB external harddrive for $68 at officeworks (i can't believe how cheap these things are these days). i no longer live in fear that my photos will randomly disappear.

also, very excitingly, got some hairties and a key necklace from diva. i love ~antique keys...on long necklaces.

sidenote:

i've kind of become obsessed with renovating my bedroom and redesigning my warddrobe. an artifact of my following so many blogs. so i'll probably be posting up some inspiration for myself sooner or later.

right now, i'm loving the lookbook for scotch & soda.

and i go dinner at workmates

left bed at 11am
took me until 4pm to finish my chores
stupid big house, remind self not to get big house unless you have robot to clean it
laundered, washed mocdog, laundered, vacuumed, mopped, cleaned up clutter, washed the bathroom, sorted mail, washed dishes, meh-ed.
parents back on monday, whootwhoot. so that means i don't have to clean the toilet anymore.
score!

went to charity's house for dinner
her husband's so nice
we played angry birds and drank bird while we waited for bob and vinnci
then when they finally did arrive
we ate for 3 hours.
lol.
sashimi and korean bbq. so so so spoiled <3
me and bob bickered for 2.5 hours while charity scolded us like little children.
just like at work. i think their significant others were...very amused.
then when we were all full we sat down to watch some david attenborough
while we drank traditional tea and ate fruit
i ate like...half a watermelon.
had a domesticated night. 'twas awesome because my workmates are awesome.

so spoiled.
they both checked to see if i got home alright.
feel so loved.

so bored right now.
there's stuff i could do...technically...
hmm...yeah. not going to do it.

second last week of work.
i'm crying a thousand tears.
some of the girls have a business trip next week
so the office surprised me with a farewell cake a week in advance
seriously...evil.

also seriously can not get over how fortunate i've been the past few years to have such awesome workmates. <3
will be redundantly repeating this sentence over the course of the next week.

anyway, this week was littlebro's 17th birthday
got him the smallest birthday cake ever.
lol.

then because isaac celebrated his birthday dinner with his friends
we ended up making up for it the next night by deciding to go to city for dinner
throughout the 17th Feb, I kept thinking wouldn't it be funny if i bump into twin at takeru
(since it's our default dinner spot whenever we're in the city)
after we parked the car, me and isaac walked towards takeru
and looooooooooooooooooooool forever, twin, joe cheung, gay eric, jane kwan, winnie kwan and basically, the entire church were there
me and twin hugged like one of us had been lost at war and then we kind of stood in opposite directions for a good 15 minutes while we waited for seats since i was with my little bro

anyway, dinner was awesome as usual.
love talking about things with my little bro <3

then we decided to go get passionflower, so we said goodbye to the church people and walked on over
turns out they didn't accept card and i couldn't afford it with my $10 dollah so we left, and i decided make isaac walk with me to meet fresh for asian dessert
seeing as we were supposed to eat tong yuen anyway
as we walked down the street, i asked him wouldn't it be funny if we bumped into them again?
lo and behold, as we turned the corner, i very clearly saw joe cheung and gay eric lining up
LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL
anyway, in the end, we decided to takeout and drive home
all in all, a lovely night :)

then today at work, charity was going to drive me to lane cove to get lunch
that was the original plan seeing as stupid bob already went pepper lunch by himself yesterday
(he'd been nagging us all morning yesterday to go with him but i had to deal with the US shipment and charity had lunch, anyway...)
but as we were driving to lane cove, me and charity decided to go pepper lunch
we called bob to tell him to change his lunch order since we were going to chatswood instead
lol at him fully swearing at us.
gotta love chinatown <3

also, manager ordered 19 photobooks to commemorate 2010 and made us all sign them
my signature takes long time and hurts my wrists after about...five.
lol.

slightly less, but still bored.

another poo day.
had to wake up at six to get picked up by colleague at six thirty, because she had to drop her sister at chatswood chase.
while i'm grateful for the ride and for the opportunity to have a great breakfast, i think sleep is more important.
oh~ sleep.

got to work.
jumpstarted my car and it ran so silver lining!

finished up stocktake.
it was so dusty it brought out my hayfever.
was tearing and nose was running for i don't even know how long
at around 3pm i gave up and had to take out my contacts
charity, the genius she is, cut up a cup and put some solution in it while i rested my eyes
was blind for approximately one whole hour
bob, the evil bum that he is, completely took advantage and chucked stuff at my face
gonna miss both of them so much
especially because sometimes evil bob is so nice and buys me a ton of cheap stuff off ebay
lol.

left work half hour early because my eyeball hurt and i felt like scooping it out
shall sleep early today
like...at nine.

Miscellanous update
week...three (?) without the parents and feeling a lot of love from relatives and family friends
also, for some reason, everyone thinks i can't cook...like at all.
i guess that's better than if they think i can cook and then i face ugly myself.
basically just been working at work and procrastinating my phD

had CNY celebrations at work and got red pockets from elayne and charity
whoot whoot

went over to Big Uncle's place again last night for dinner, this time to grab some red pockets
got a lot more than last year, which isn't saying much considering how we got...none

my little great niece is the cutest thing ever. and so so smart.

she caught onto hotel dash super super quick.

oh how childhood has changed. all the kids were playing with iPhones xD

sydney weather has been completely psycho lately. got woken up at dawn the other day because it was so hot. so obviously, took a photo. saturday was 40s and today is like...20s. super wth!

been attempting to make my own ice coffee (left), but caved last week and bought one of george's.

SO. GOOD.

took out mr. peter ho's (i.e. cherry's dads) inheritance the other weekend and fell in love with the wide manual prime lens. really need to take it for a run. but need time.

finally, we arrive at today.
got 2 out of 4 tamora pierce books that i ordered from the book depository.
felt like revisiting some classic YA books with a fierce heroine.

also took a lot of pictures of myself while i was cooking lamb cutlets and japanese curry because i really liked what i was wearing today. i don't know why. lol.

the majority of my afternoon ended up in martin place
context was that our daily account had run out of money and we needed to do payroll
so the only way we could get money in before the business day ended was to withdraw cash from one of our CBA accounts and deposit it into our ANZ account
the sum of money required was 100% more than the local branch was authorised to give us
so we ended up at martin place withdrawing...a lot of money

many troubles ensued
$30/hr parking
and lots of waiting later
we had our bag of money

and arrived back at the office 2 minutes before closing time
YAY for everyone being paid on time
too exciting a day for me to handle
(more exciting than i'm making it sound right now, to be honest xD)

on a more dull note, i made a ~variation of cobb salad for dinner today

wow i just spent...alot of hours renovating this space.
going to blog quickly so i can sleep :P (lazy pig)
so this week was the first week of my parent's being gone and it's pretty alright so far
not big dramas
having a meal plan definitely heaps.
hopefully when isaac goes back to school next week, things will keep being awesome.

work has been fun. so weird to have a little cousin working with me.
we've been busy little bees.
bob's taken to pranking me because i'm leaving.
everytime he brings it up, i want to cry. stupid bob.
we went out to chatswood for pepper lunch on friday and spent some quality asian time.

then when we returned to lane cove, bob was awesome and landed in between the two chaplin drives JUST as everyone from cochlear was swapping shifts. good going bob!
he ended up driving into the lane, with the cars going in another direction, so he could u-turn but he was too slow and the cars started driving towards him so he parked on the opposite side of the road.
lol. ~shakes head.
ahhh, the things i'll miss.

isaac went out to dinner friday night so i made myself wraps while i skyped with mum and mum's family.
i watched them hotpot and play mahjong and grandma kept telling me to find a boyfriend.
apparently, she would rather i not study cos boys don't like smart girls.
