way back at the beginning of 2012, i wrote out a list of resolutions
i think i managed about 33% of that list, which isn't too bad. but then, it hits me that i completed the first two in the first month, and then, it kind of makes me think what the hell happened during the rest of the year?
stream of consciousness to myself: i'm really proud that i finished renovating my room and sewing my quilt. both accomplishments that i see everyday as a reminder of what i can do when i put my mind to it. (let's just ignore how rarely i put my mind to things). i'm proud that i've read a few more books this year, but hopefully, i'll be able to read a few more. have i spent less money? probably not. i'm not even sure that's a goal i want to carry over, but i guess...i'd like to save money so that i can spend money, if that makes sense? living healthier is definitely something i want to do more of, as well as balancing my life and reducing computer time. but let's be realistic, i am supposed to be a phD student after all...i'll have to set some slightly more SMART goals. scrapping the photobook idea because...yeah, nah. i didn't get to travel to europe last year, but i did get to go to the US again. which was really cool. FINGERS CROSSED FIVE TIMES OVER i make it over there this year. and of course, i always want to be awesome.
i'm not quite ready for 2013 yet. somehow, despite all the free time i've been handed these past two weeks, i haven't thought about what i want this year to mean yet, which is really strange because usually i reflect, reflect, reflect...
i guess...
renovate my room; finish my 21st birthday quilt; read (at least) one non-phD related book per month; spend less money; live healthier - sleep more, eat better, smile everyday; learn to balance my life; finish HPW 2011 US Tour photobook; reduce computer time as much as possible; travel to europe; be awesome.well, here we are and...lol.

i guess...
- learn more. learn to take a photograph, learn another language, find out more about the world and the people who are in it with me.
- be creative. i want to take on one creative project a month (doesn't have to be big)
- read more. let's aim for a slightly more realistic...10 books this year.
- keep sleeping and eating (appropriate amounts at appropriate times), keep smiling (always).
- return to europe. come on!
- be awesome (:P).

went to the argyle for an ex-workmate's engagement party last night
(that place is SO. PRETTY.)
met up with little cousin beforehand for korean and we were both running late so i got to cafe cya before her and ordered. sat there by myself eating like i'd been stood up for a good 20 minutes xD
then we taxied it to the rocks because jess and her friend were wearing intense heels. hahahha
got to argyle and we were like where's the engagement party?
and then we looked on our right and there were all these asians and it was like, oh here it is!
started off pretty weird, maybe because i haven't been around...normal people for awhile
and i forget how nerdy/geeky i can be, so i had to spend a good hour or so assimilating back into normal life
the drinks were super pretty, kind of pricey ($18), and pretty sweet.
so so so awesome to catchup with the people from work <3 miss them so much.
went up to the second floor to cough-dance-cough a bit, went to a unisex bathroom...and couldn't figure out how to work the tap (it had a sensor in the ceiling -.-)
ended up being a pretty awesome night
i'd really like to go back there some day.
got offered a lift home, but then kina had to pick up her boyfriend from the cross and drop him off at liverpool so i didn't end up getting home until like..2am
it was the most hilarious thing cos he looks like a european model, talks like he's from bankstown and is a rta auditor
lovely memories of the four of us in kina's car, singing adele at 1:30am in the morning.

they gave out macaroons as favours (super cute)
got a new purse from portmans for nights out (because i have so many of those...lol)
finally made use of the oroton coin purse twin gave me
and yay! i finished my friendship bracelet
today we went to parklea markets, my mum and i
and we caught up with so many aunties who still work there
and there was so much talk about where everyone's children are these days, so many lawyers and accountants with their first investment properties, etc etc etc
and it made me so uncomfortable inside
because i don't want to buy a house right now, i don't want to be super rich, i don't want those things to be important
eck.
greed makes people so ugly.

you know i have a life when i post four blogposts in one day right?
well, anyway, up to today:
drove down to dfo to get another oroton umbrella to replace the one i lost talking to cherry ho on the bus
TURNS OUT THEY DON'T HAVE ANY IN STOCK AT THE MOMENT
fail.
was also on the lookout for a graduation dress but gave up.
double fail.
got some tops from dotti and a pair of flats from country road
then i went to ikea, which is essentially just across the road
was so hungry by then that the first thing i did was go to the cafeteria and eat me some meatballs
such a loner, eating meatballs and mash alone :(
then i went around ikea and had fun picking up random stuff for my phD desk
and then i got to the checkout and it was soooooooooooooooo ridic
the lines were all the way back to the computers that help you locate stuff
so i just chucked my items and decided to go back another time
like at 8:30pm on a tuesday night or something xDDDD
