this happened last friday.

Context: Our whole org class, minus 3 humans, went down to the Whitehouse for drinks after our exam. Huiyih, Tab and I arrived a little bit later because we went up to Level 14 after the exam. When we arrived, the party was midswing and we walked into the middle of a very interesting conversation about unisex bathrooms. Anyway, after a couple of jars of punch, I had to go to the toilet. So I asked sweet-faced HuiYih because she’d just gone a few moments earlier.

She pointed me straight ahead to this fully black door with no signs (or so I thought). Being the trusting little lamb that I am; I just followed her instructions without questioning. I walked into the bathroom, and standing there was Chris (!!!) washing his hands or whatever. Well, this is awkward, I said. Chris just stood there, a bit O_O. Then I turned to my right to open the bathroom door. I observed that there was a bathroom stall and a urinal. Now I must disclose that I’d been consuming drinks quite steadily up to this point, so it is no surprise that my cognitive functioning was slightly delayed. This is strange, I thought to myself, wouldn’t unisex bathrooms just have stalls? I mean, I would still be able to see everything if a guy used the urinal. Hmmmmm…. And then it clicked. Yes, I assure you, it did click.

So I scurried out of the men’s bathroom. And to my embarrassment, all the people that mattered had slowly watched the car crash that was me walking into the men’s bathroom. Sigh. Turns out Huiyih has a crooked finger or something and she was pointing straight ahead but a little bit to the right. WHATEVER. -.- So embarrassing.

man~ so behind
let us amalgamate all the exciting stuff that has happened since 5th June into this one entry
that is, this is going to be the laziest entry ever

  • on sunday: i gave moc-dog a shower (for the first time in months~) and he was super unimpressed.
  • on monday: i went and watched x-men: first class and fangirled over the mcbender bromance. movie was fun. people i watched it with were fun (twin, joecheung, cherryho+bf, ~derek). some pretty useless characters but that was made up for by the awesome ones (and it didn't hurt that i liked most of the cast). joecheung wouldn't let me drink chatime because its poisonous (irony) but he bought us icecream cones for the movie so it was okay. we ate korean afterwards.
  • on tuesday: i went to the belgian cafe with twin, joecheung, eric and cherryho. they all had mussells and i had a really good ribeye steak because i didn't want them to take me to the hospital. we drank beer. me and twin drank ~manly beer. the ~manly beer tasted better than the girly beer. i was red in the face. we are a lot. then we went to maxbrenner and drank hot chocolate. super. fat. when i got home, my mum made me go to sleep straightaway because apparently i was too drunk to shower. ew.
  • on wednesday: i had a 9am meeting with workcover people and it lasted until like...12pm? 2pm? then i had to get my hardcore study on for my friday exam. jenny brought us marshmallows. they were weird.
  • on thursday: i studied.
  • on friday: i had my psyc of org exam and it was fun. then at night, we randomly decided to go to the rocks. it took us an hour to get from uni to the rocks. lesson 1: don't drive to the rocks. we checked out vividsydney and the rocks night markets. we took forever to decide on a place to eat and ended up at pancakes on the rocks. we waited for half an hour, like tourists. then we talked. and talked. and talked. and then i looked at my watch and it was 12:30am. lol!!!!! michelle the savvyor (read: saviour) drove us to the city. and janice was so rebel she slept over at my place because her next train was in an hour. EPIC. we slept on the living room couches and concluded that they were super comfy.
  • on saturday: dropped janice off at home. we waited a whole 15 minutes for the egg to our epic lunch feast. so good. picked up missjennylam and spent day at uni kind of productively. ate dinner at some shang place. ordered too much. so fat. (again) then we went and had chatime.
  • on sunday: i slept at 3am. and woke up at 3pm. and didn't study. at. all.
  • on monday (public holiday): got picked up my janice promptly at 9am. drove to uni in the rain. for lunch, we made janice drive us down to maccas. me and jenny shared a beef mates meal because we're beef mates. and i was -.- when i realised i got a quarter pounder and not a double quarter pounder. hannah joined us for lunch. for dinner, jenny and janice were ultra awesome and went down to get chinese takeout <3 because i was epically studying. the congee was kind of salty and the fried rice was not salty enough and we had chatime.
  • on tuesday: i had my exam. it was SUPER not fun. like...to overcompensate the funness of the other one. eck. i don't even want to think about it. after the exam, we went to the whitehouse for drinks. somehow managed to drink from 12-3pm, skipping out on a seminar and a lab meeting. go me! had so. much. punch. the fries are so good there. {insert toilet story}. after that, i went back upstairs to reply emails and do work. everyone thought i was drunk, but i wasn't.
  • today: we ventured out of our comfort zone and went to the quad for lunch. janice also ran. we also went and had chatime.

so much detail has been lost but oh well, hopefully these sentences will trigger my memory when i read back over these blogs in 17 years time.
recount of the toilet story will come later - seeing as i already told it once today.
meanwhile, check out odosketch: my new procrastinating pasttime xD

busybusybee
quite a few things happened this week but i'll probably make a separate lazy entry after i've studied a little bit :P
just wanted to post up my latest, now completed,  project
(obviously because i have a lot of time on my hand and all)

you can find the pattern on ravelry: Gap-tastic cowl pattern

donna.
met up with miss charity yesterday, who successfully completed her first trimester
so excited for her!
she was half an hour late meeting me at circular quay, but i was able to pass the time visiting the knitting yarn shop on york street and drinking my hipster ice coffee at starbucks.

we had the BBQ pork ribs and monte crisco crepes at pancakes on the rocks
the food was so good, but i have a feeling it was partially due to the extended wait we had.
it was a busy saturday.
(sidenote the girls next to us got free drinks and a free pancake because they waited even longer :P)
then after lunch, we strolled the rocks markets before slowly walking to pitt st mall. and by slowly, i mean i was walking at 25% speed because pregnant ladies are supposed to walk slowly.
we ordered some fresh juice at the food court and i got really anal because i knew she wasn't supposed to drink watermelon juice, but like...what other stuff can't she drink? *pulls hair out*

anyway, around 4 i made her go home and get some rest and i went wandering around the city streets on my own in search of a few things on my wishlist. i pretty much failed.
shall start online shopping in the near future!

i was, however, finally able to purchase a 1TB external harddrive for $68 at officeworks (i can't believe how cheap these things are these days). i no longer live in fear that my photos will randomly disappear.

also, very excitingly, got some hairties and a key necklace from diva. i love ~antique keys...on long necklaces.

sidenote:
i've kind of become obsessed with renovating my bedroom and redesigning my warddrobe. an artifact of my following so many blogs. so i'll probably be posting up some inspiration for myself sooner or later.

right now, i'm loving the lookbook for scotch & soda.
why you gotta be so expensive?

had a really big assignment due this week
so naturally i found ways to procrasinate...

i started following a ridiculous number of blogs recently - wedding photography, do-it-yourself, fashion, interior design, etc etc etc

ever since i came across a few things from my life, run by sarah & bendrix
i've been looking for an excuse to try and replicate one of their frames

so when janice randomly gave us flowers, i was finally like YAY! ~EXCUSES!
let's make hearts out of trashy magazines! let's make hearts out of jacob's section of breaking dawn!
kidding.
finally just settled for some good ol' fashioned scrapbooking paper.
it was super super fun.

random sidenote:
look what arrived in the mail today!

donna.

i realise it's been awhile since i've blogged.
no real reason why aside from the fact that i've been lazy and sleeping early and knitting instead of being on my computer.
(is that an improvement?)

just a quick series of pictures to describe the past week.

janice was randomly awesome, awesomely random and got us all flowers.
in case i forget in the future
michelle finds a flower on her desk.
miri finds a flower on her desk.
donna: i better have a flower on my desk.
*donna runs to desk
janice: dammit.

went into uni on sunday to work on assignment
janice was awesome...again.
(i'm sensing a pattern here)
and bought me kfc.

then for dinner we went down to enchanthai (?)
where mel and tab melstyled with janice
*shudders
also, there was this super funny moment where i started laughing at something really dumb
and couldn't stop laughing
and then janice was just like wth.
and that me laugh even more.
and then she was like...huh?
and i kept laughing so hard it hurt.
and then janice started laughing.
and then it wasn't funny anymore.

rainy weather in sydney.
means gumboots and umbrella and knitting :D

was so lazy the other day i couldn't even be bothere to go downstairs to grab lunch
so i just made shin ramen out of my supermarket

i love nuts so much.
ate a 200g packet within 2 days.
lack of self-control right here.

reminder to self:
DO. NOT. get the spinach and feta pie from bebetalo.
the salt is enough to preserve you for a hundred years.

and just. oh. my. gosh.
it's june already.
