melbourne cup

what did i do yesterday?
oh yeah!
i dated myself: went and watched the social network
and it was good.
right now, i feel like it's already gotten to the stage of being overhyped
but i have a feeling it's one of those films that you gain more from on a second viewing
so let's not write it off yet (research time!)
was very pleasantly surprised by the witty dialogue and the humour, very well written and framed
and whoever scored it, thumbs up dude! especially, the opening scene mixed in with the sidewalk violinist
so awesome~
cinematography-wise, i think i set my expectations a bit high, aside from the rowing race with the tilt-shift and close ups, nothing really stood out for me
and oh~ andrew garfield, i'm going to crush on you alongside rob
which is totally ok since you guys are friends and unlike rob, you can actually consistently act :P
he's officially made me want to see never let me go. good job andrew!
i felt the most sympathetic towards his character, to the point i was almost in tears T.T
also, the main cast are quite cute in real life, and that of course helps the crush along :x

today was melbourne cup!
had dress up competition at work, that manager won with his waistcoat and tophat hahahaha
also, meant that we basically spent half the work day eating sushi and playing poker
times like these that make me love my company and loathe it for making me fat
happy and resolved sigh
i didn't win. or get last. so i couldn't even get my bet back :P
but we had heaps of fun. <3
makes me never want to leave~

also, isaac cooked us dinner <3 (kind of)

donna.
